Have you ever thought of the valuable service radio stations provide by playing wall to wall Christmas music as early as the first of November, or even in October? It’s not what you might think.
No, I’m not talking about how being drowned in Christmas music gets shoppers in the mood to spend money and presumably boost the economy. I have another service in mind.
If every day sounds like Christmas on the radio, by the time you get to December 25th, Christmas sounds like just another day.
And that’s what it is.
The strongest proponents for celebrating Christmas will tell you Jesus Christ wasn’t born on December 25th.
All that emphasis on one day. Now it’s over, and today’s just another day, too.
If we didn’t hype one day so much, maybe we could enjoy the “just another day” we have every day God gives us to live through the rest of the year.
