One of the most shocking and disconcerting aspects of the COVID-19 ordeal is that it has nearly everybody afraid of their own shadow.
A few years ago, when my side of the family gathered for Christmas, the conversation among some of us men turned briefly to politics and current events. I stated that government and media propaganda about shooters and terrorism of all kinds had people afraid of their own shadows.
But my dad and one of my brothers-in-law refuted my statement with convincing arguments that stopped me cold. What they said is just as relevant today as it was then.
Consider the sinister threat posed by your shadow.
Your shadow…
- Stalks you everywhere. You can’t get rid of it.
- Is deathly silent. You’ll never know what it’s thinking.
- Becomes a shape shifter due to the effects of a bright orb in outer space. It becomes long in the morning and evening and short in the middle of the day.
- Disappears in the dark, especially when the lights are all out. Where is it lurking?
Are you afraid yet? You should be. No force on Earth can provide a solution. You’d have to be blind not to see it.
Be afraid…Be very afraid….
Or, if you’re a believer in Christ, you could consider another point of view.
For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. – 2 Timothy 1:7
