Refocusing our Negative Thought Patterns – Worry

Negative thought patterns plague all of us from time to time. Worry can be especially problematic. How do we handle it when it comes our way?

I spoke on dealing with worry during the evening service at our church, Northwood Baptist Church, Columbia, MO, Sunday, June 17, 2018. As well as sharing a number of Scripture passages, I gave a few pithy tidbits from my dad and a school teacher from years past.

Here are a few highlights.

  • Our fallen world gives us cause to worry.
  • God knows we will worry.
  • We must recognize our self-centeredness and unbelief.
  • We must redirect our thoughts toward better things.
  • God is ever present with us.
  • We should practice thankfulness.
  • We should come humbly before God as we give Him our cares.
