What If You Didn’t Know?

I’m a firm believer in knowing as much Bible doctrine as possible. At the very least, there are some key doctrines that help us as believers put things into proper perspective for walking with our God and dealing with others in this world.

We’ve got study Bibles, commentaries, Christian radio and the Internet to help us discover the truth. So there’s no good excuse for not knowing it.

But do you have to know Bible doctrine before you can be saved? Many haven’t. What of them?

The words of Paul and Silas to the Philippian jailer give us the refreshing, simple answer.

Acts 16:31-34 says this.

31.And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.
32. And they spake unto him the word of the Lord, and to all that were in his house.
33. And he took them the same hour of the night, and washed their stripes; and was baptized, he and all his, straightway.
34. And when he had brought them into his house, he set meat before them, and rejoiced, believing in God with all his house.

Once you’ve come to the Lord, you should notice a desire to know our wonderful Lord and His word. Learn all you can. Don’t let ignorance or newness of faith stop you.
